It is our mission to enhance the faith experience of men in our parish though Christ centered fellowship and discipleship formation. We do this by meeting periodically in large and small social settings to consider topics of interest to those seeking to live their faith. Every man is welcome to participate. 'Out of the park' Men's Night at St John the Evangelist August 5th:

SJE Men's Discipleship, Monday August 5, 2024, Holy Cross Hall.

Our August Men's Night featurd Fr Benjamin Lehnertz, pastor of St Joseph in Orlando. He spoke on "Expressions of Prayer" and how we might enhance our Prayer time and Spiritual Life. He gave us a formula for prayer with; "Acknowledge, Relate, Receive, Respond". So in all things, God wants us to recognize our needs, ask, open ourselves to receive and respond in kind to our loving Father, every day. Thank you Fr Benjamin for your powerful call to action to fill that void we often neglect.
Also want to thank Genna Pizza for their support and contributions to our parish community. It was awesome! And deserving of a plug...Give them a try. Owned and managed by parishioners of St John the Evangelist.
Genna Pizza, 4301 N. Wickham Road (Forest Run)
Genna Pizza Express, 7954 N Wickham Road (Baytree)

T'was An Excellent Men's Night at St John the Evangelist in April:

SJE Men's Discipleship, Tuesday April 30, 2024, Holy Cross Hall.

It was a great evening for first time back since 2020. Fr Zack, an excellent speaker, gave us the most compelling explaination of our topic, "Living the Eucharistic Life":

  • what living the Eucharist is;
  • how and why we should direct our inner selves to demostrate an attitude of thanks toward God for all the blessings and all the trials he has bestowed on us;
  • how we can understand the sacrifice of the Mass better in directing the Love we receive back toward Him as He poured his Love out to us;
  • avoiding sinful choices by recognizing Gods creation in everything for what He created it to be;
  • and finally, seeing our place in God's plan as being one of joy, appreciation of our world, and to love one another as God loves us.

Considering a Men's Small Group? With the coming Men's Conference in September, there will be opportunity to find a respective group. We will be having signups available at the conference for both St Johns & Holy Name parishes. Other parishes are invited to do the same. Be sure to stop by the Live4More table to find out more about these small christian communities and what they offer to enhance our call and empower us as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For those of you who have or wish to sign up for Small Groups, we are continually working on recruiting members, gathering materials and organizing groups and interests. If you have not already communicated your interest, please do so in email or using the Information Link from this page to forward your preference. Groups may take many different forms from bible study to directed theme programs to discussion of Christian literature to sharing on The Daily Word and Sunday Readings to simple prayer with discussion...you name it. Some ideas for materials can be found on the RESOURCES page (see link header above).

Remember, SMALL GROUPS may be an option and way to provide the spiritual support group we have talked about at our events. Let us know you are interested and we can help get you started.
